Carlos Roberto Calderón

President

Graduated as Dentist at the National University San Carlos of Guatemala with a Master degree in Public Health and a  Public Notary in the State of California.

He has been outstanding in different fields, among them like actor, composer, singer, businessman and communitarian activist. Although one of its great passions is the music, in which he was fairly successful, to serve needed people is what brings happiness to Carlos.

For the last five years, he has been focused to the attention to Guatemalan migrants in the United States. Regardless of being recognized or not, Carlos continue to explore possibilities and knock doors to be able to keep serving its people.

Heidi Francesca Calderón

Executive Director

An International Business major with an impresive background on music, small businesses and community service, is also passionate about social work.

 

A brilliant profesional and dedicated mother, she always finds the way to combine all kind of activities but always on top on her mind, helping the needed and migrants.

 

Francesca has been an important liason between politics, organizations and individuals that one way or another had expressed interest in social issues. She also oversees most of IAF  projects and actions, specialy the ones on Guatemala.

Rafael Amado Deras

Vicepresident

B.S in Mass Media from UCLA, Master Degree in Political Marketing and a specialization in TV Production from American Film Institute –AFI-, Rafael has been working in media for more than 20 years in the US as well as in  Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica and his native, Guatemala.

 

Even tough he enjoys so much working in media and with politics, Rafael had always said that helping people is the only thing that gets out the best of him as a human being.

 

Since a very early age, he got involved in community service, first with Boy Scouts then Lions International and later on with Rotary International. Rafael covered for many years inmigration issues for local (US) and International media and now had decided to support Fundemi.

Daniel de León

Vicepresident of Operations

With engineering studies, young entrepreneur, activist, has dedicated resources and years of his life to the social work. Fundamental piece of projects like the one of the Panima´bey school in Comalapa, Guatemala.

 

Daniel has used his knowledge in the area of the architecture and civil engineering for benefit of the reconstruction of schools and other infrastructure repairs in rural areas of Guatemala.

 

In addition, he has a natural ability to get sponsorships and to involve to people and communities in a teamwork environment. One of the qualities of Daniel is that always is willing to take the first step, to lead by the example.
